Banky W- the w experience is a wow experience

This sure will wow Nigeria music lover both home and abroad. The man with the silky and sexy voice popularly known as Banky w a.k.a mr capable has dropped an album that’s is going to take Nigeria music industry by storm. Banky w real name Bankole Wellinghton just released an album titled “The W Experience” on Monday the 14th of December 2009, believe me this album is going to blow up in the market like pure water in dry season.

With this follow up to his first album mr capable, Banky W has made a clear statement that the first wasn’t a fluke. He knows his game well and plays it right with so much confident and swag which reflects in his album. Banky W who use to leave abroad came back to Nigeria to establish himself on the Nigeria music scene just few years back and now his name pops out of our lips first when r’n’b is talked about in Nigeria… even though the second single off W experience the “strong thing” still has a strong hold on our music membrane, you still cant but remember “don’t break my heart”

Lets go straight into the tracks on the album to have a feel of what you might eventually decide to buy. The intro on the album … the w experience is enough to put you in the mood to do something if you know what I mean….that song is too sexy for Nigeria entertainment alone, I personally think some one like D’angelo can use it to rejuvenate his music career. “Strong thing” needs no more introduction because if you have not heard that song, I believe you have being living under a sound- prove rock for over a year now. That song combines soul into sexy, it’s the rhythm in blue even though it’s a mid-tempo song and its so sticky that you don’t forget the tune once you hear it… you’ve got to love that song except you are just a hater.

Other songs that needs checking out is lagos party the debut track, tanker, follow you go, feeling it featuring m.i, “so brand new” this song is the s*** you will definitely love it…it’s a slow song that surely can make you forget your worries about that chick that’s being giving you headache just because you are asking her out.. My advice? Just listen and learn that son, the lyrics can begin giving you ideas on what next to tell her… just a tip lol

You can never expect anything short of excellent from the producers lined up in this album no wonder the songs sound so good you get lost in the album when you are listening to it. The producers on the album are sunny nweke[not so popular but did an excellent job], cobhams asuquo- personally I think he is still the first guy that comes to mind when it comes to sexy, lovely, romantic and slow songs in Nigeria…its like the man is r’n’b himself, id cabasa[brain behind gongo aso sure you remember that one], ddokta frabz- I’ve being keeping tabs on this guy and to be sincere he is the bomb when it comes to music production, he knowns his craft or art if you permit me, k-solo[brain behind timaya’s hit songs and many others, Ty mix-being in the game for a long time so its even a stain on him so produce a whack song for anybody, lastly muzik men[ chris cubeta, banky w, Stanley ekure].

The album is good except for the bass on all the recording…it almost blew out my speakers.

Psquare says you go see danger- album review

These irresistible sexy duo groups of two brothers peter and Paul Okoye popularly known as PSQUARE cannot be overlooked when it comes to music entertainment in Nigeria and Africa as a whole. The duo who grew up in Jos, plateau state but later move to Lagos to improve their relationship with their fans and to be closer to where all the major shows happen has definitely stacked their claim on hiphop entertainment in Nigeria with their forth studio album titled DANGER which is blazing up every chats on radio, television and booming off every disc jockey’s turntable.

Psquare sure knows what entertainment is all about with the way they have package themselves starting from the way they dress in there music video, at shows and even why they are not performing they still leave you with that feeling that they were born to be a star to there organization which they call the square record which is actually manage by there elder brother Jude Okoye which also happen to direct their music videos among other things he does. News reaching me is that the album sold 2million copies in first two weeks of release; its just hearsay because that figure cannot be confirmed.

If accolades are not given to psquare for the way they have contributed to the development of the way people shoot videos in Nigeria then the story about them is not complete. From the very day we first set eye on there first set of videos from there debut album to their present video DANGER blazing up all music chat, you will know that they sure know how to shoot videos.

The album danger comprises of ten tracks and 4 intrumentals which can be said are good songs, starting with I love you which sound more like there usual mid-tempo love songs from there previous albums no one be like you. I personally think they start there album that way because it has become a very effective formula that works for them. On this particular album we must applaud them for leaving there comfort zone a bit by dropping danger{an unusual style} has there debut single which is totally different from there other debut single tracking back to there first album. They must have taken a risk at that but common its psquare, people will still listen. Danger is a creatively written song and insanely shot video.

Another great song on that album is break it which has that feel of roll it, get squared. May be it’s a plus or a weakness on there part that all there tracks always have a similar feel…..you should be the judge of that. E no easy has always found its way among most Nigeria mix appearing on the street and even blasting on our radio stations so there must definitely be something special about that song. Bye bye is neither a love song nor warning love song but it cool though. One song i personally have a soft spot for is troway

These guy sure knows how to appreciate there fans with the track titled super fans which is a follow up success to thank you on GET SQUARED album.

Most of the tracks on this album was produced by Paul Okoye for rude boy productions except E no easy produced by J martins, super fans by frenzy, break it by Peter Okoye. This guys sure knows about beat from there dance track to their love songs.

Even though this track is doing well in the market, there are some things about the album that must be mentioned or else the review will not be complete. The video of danger reminded me of “Busta rhymes dangerous”. The beat and the tune of the track titled “who dey here” sounds like it is the remix of “Maino’s” hit single “all the above”. Another thing I noticed about their albums is that they all sound so much alike, its like they found a comfort zone and they just decided to stay there. I think a group of there caliber should push boundaries with the creativity of there songs not just videos.

Well we have only seen the video of danger and they didn’t dance at all so lets still keep our fingers crossed may be they are tired of copying Michael Jackson’s dance moves{ rest in peace king of pop} or Usher has stop dancing so much in his videos that they are short of ideas. Just saying…..!!! The only original chorography done by them is on do me video

Ok after all said and written….*&%$ I think I should also make mention of there achievement but I don’t think if I start now, I will ever finish so I will just name a few
They have always won the best video in most Nigeria music award, best duo group….

wande coal from mushin 2 mohits- the new hip hop dynasty from mo hits

The musical talent and vocal strength of this young man who hails from mushin cannot be overlooked and it can be said that he has paid his dues before emerging as a shiny star.Oluwatobi wande ojosipe popularly known as [wande coal] as carved a niche for himself in Nigerian music industry with hit tracks after hit tracks in either song of his, or song he featured in. it’s almost a known fact that any song wande coal’s vocal appears in is an instant hit.

With a whole lot of awards to show for his work in a short period of time he ventures in the music industry, it must be said that his talent is a gem. No wonder he is so priceless to mohit records and our music industry at large. With his debut album titled Mushin 2 Mohits not now and selling like pure water in dry season, Wande coal as definitely come to stay in Nigeria music industry, his vocal is so strong and unique almost sounding like an autotuned voice, you recognize it instantly even if you hear it while napping and is effort has not gone unnoticed by his colleagues in the music industry which is evidential in different collaborations staring with D banj’s numerous songs like rock ya body a club banger and lots of songs on mohits curriculum vitae. Other collaboration include songs with naeto c, ikechukwu, peelola.
Wande coal’s first effort is loaded with so many tracks that are friendly to the ear, lovely lyric, great command of pitch. The hit tracks on this album are BUMPER TO BUMPER which is almost on every dj’s playlist now, BANANA featuring Dr sid one of Mohits crew, taboo, his love song OlOLUFE which first showcased his talent as a solo artist, and his sexy teasing song I KNOW YOU LIKE IT. Other songs are SE NA LIKE THIS talking about the struggle in Nigeria , how Nigeria moved from economic boom to economic doom, KISS YOUR HAND featuring ikechukwu, CONFUSED featuring the kokomaster D banj. Another great song on this album is SE OPE a very thoughtful song.

All the songs on this album is produced by the one and only brain behind Mohits beats, hit tracks, superb backups for D banj and Mohits crew, ikechukwu club banger, no other person than Don jazzy also called Don papa jay, a true blessing to our music industry. One particular beat on this album that really shows his ability and tenacity as a true don in beat making is NOW ITS ALL GONE, if it wasn’t a Nigerian album I will definitely argue with my last breath that it’s a TIMBERLND beat. Big ups to Don jazzy, great work.

Though the excellent effort Wande coal put in this album cannot be ignored still I feel the album almost sounded the same, same style all through. I think he was being cautious not stepping out of his range so he stayed at a comfort zone. I feel he should show he’s got what it takes.

Wande coal cannot be named among the unachievers of Nigeria music industry so to name a few of his achievements, fastest rising artist at uniport 2008 award, best upcoming artist hiphop award 2008, performed at thisday music festival 2006 and 2007 alongside foreign artist like Jay z, Beyounce, Busta Rhymes, Missy elliot, Ciara, Neyo, Shakira, John Legend, also at history of love concert 2007, channel O spirit of Africa 2007, star mega jams, naija reunion, Calabar carnival.

deebee the collabo master is set to take over nigerian entertainment "deebee ti gbaso"

Nigeria album reviews
Hope by now the stage name deebee with the album titled collabo master is no more a stranger to you and the Nigeria entertainment world anymore. This Ekiti guy must have done his homework before releasing his work into Nigerian music market.

Nothing can be taken away from this collabo master for now so I say he should bask in the glory of the success of debut album. With his single monster hit “collabo” he has taken over all air waves and dj’s turntables. You feel something missing when in a party or club if the monster hit “collabo” is not played even all Nigerian music mixes has collabo on their list to show how monsterous this song is.

He’s got the quality in his album to take over Nigeria entertainment the way he has. He don show everybody say ‘him head dey there” using his own word in one of his tracks don come again be precise. The collabo master must get some applaud for his first work introduced into the Nigerian music market.

Though deebee must have something good to offer before he can put fort this album, kudos must also go to the producers that worked on this album, from his track listing people like k solo[nothing less is expected from him anyway], mr daz, yeankeyz and o2 who produced must of the track on the album. It must be said they gave this young act their best. Guess he also gave them his best you know what I mean {money make the world go round}.

Taking nothing away from “collabo” another club banger on this real Naija album is “nibo” the track he featured zeez popularly called captain 4kasibe should also explode in our faces and tracks like I don come again, runmo, koleyewon, sodie are also off the hook. The people that featured on this album should get some praises too despite must of them are upcoming artist. Generally this album is something you can listen to and bop your head all the way from the first track to the last.

Just to add to his acheivements, he has being nominated for the present Nigerian hiphop Awards and Peak Awards 2009 but the downside of this album is deebee as a new artist should at least drop album that has at least ten full tracks and whatever they like to add like instumental and skit.they should give people real value for their money,if the likes of tuface,d'banj, face just to name a few can drop more than ten tracks on their album, then new artist should try to do so or even better.

4 superman ft bigsoul & cermie
5 runmo ft prince banton
